Poetic Harship

The hardest part of writing poetry is, the fact that there are not many people who understand or feel the passion in the words, only the best of poets can make out the power in the words. So many people haven't had the experience of the process behind writing.. So although most people do feel something with the writings they read, and might like something or relate something with themselves; making it impact.. But, they don't understand the level of deep thought/feelings and how deep inside you the writing can come from. Infact, I've spoken with some world renowned poets on my live shows, and joined a couple talk shows with other poets aswell.. And I see that they process very differently yet so similar to me.. Sometimes a poet will sit on a Poem draft for months until all of a sudden inspiration hits and makes the piece come together and truly transcend... Sometimes we have to pull it out of such a deep place inside of us, and sometimes we have to face past darkness to accept the feelings, and project them into words.. Sometimes it's hard to write about something.. I have several things started that I just cannot seem to find the strength to finish..  But I know I will eventually, because these things take time.. Truth is, the best of the best poets admit that they don't just pick up a pen and write.. although it is easy to do for them, and for me.. To truly put power and emotions and passion into the reader, it takes a huge process of patience and self reflection and sometimes forcing ourselves to face demonds of the past that we wouldn't always want to do even if it was the only option or the very last... but we do it.. To free ourselves from that pain, and to face that darkness face to face and not flinch till we got our last glance, and off it goes... we can admit it, and justify it, and be empowered by it when it's done.. Truth is. Allot of writing, sad or happy, comes from allot of pain to withstand.. But we get up, and here we stand... To claim our land... And own our own brand... Do you understand? Perhaps maybe this will help in the appreciation, for a poet or any artists creation..
