I was a boy with a messed up past,

I went through life too fast,

I needed to escape that blast,

I was living a life I'd never outlast,

I couldn't let sadness overcast,

I had to find a task,

I needed a life to bask,

Now

I'm a man trying to make life last,

I am a man recast,

I will never be an outcast,

I have life with love so vast,

I live the life I cast,

I am not the one wearing a mask,

I love who I am no need to ask,
